I never imagined turning leather into a business.
All I ever wanted was to create something honest, something lasting, and something people could carry every day for years to come.
Today, I still find myself surrounded by leather, tools, and the familiar rhythm of craftsmanship that has shaped my life since 1990. The scent of leather still feels the same. The process still feels the same. And in many ways, so do I.
But after 36 years, the time has come for me to say goodbye. And I wanted to share why.
I grew up in Australia with a deep appreciation for things that were made well and meant to last. In our home, quality mattered. You looked after what you owned. You repaired things instead of replacing them. You valued workmanship, patience, and care.
That way of thinking stayed with me.
Long before Lexi’s Leather existed, I was already drawn to the beauty of genuine leather — its strength, its texture, and the way it only became more beautiful with time. I loved that no two pieces were ever exactly the same. Every mark, every grain, every finish told its own story.
In 1990, I decided to follow that passion and begin what would become Lexi’s Leather.
I didn’t start with grand plans or dreams of building a large brand. I simply wanted to offer leather bags that felt timeless, practical, and beautifully made. Pieces chosen not because they followed a trend, but because they had character, quality, and the kind of durability that could carry someone through everyday life.
Over the years, Lexi’s Leather became exactly that.
For 36 years, I’ve selected leather pieces with care and experience, always focusing on quality above all else. While styles changed and trends came and went, my belief never did: a good leather bag should feel reliable, beautiful, and made to stay with you for years.
That belief has guided every piece I’ve chosen.
Now, after more than three decades, I’ve decided it is time to step away. Not because I’ve stopped loving what I do, but because I feel ready for a new chapter and a quieter pace of life.
So this will be the final season of Lexi’s Leather.
The remaining bags in this collection are the last pieces I have personally selected. Once they are gone, there will be no new arrivals, no restocks, and no future collection waiting behind them.
This is truly the end of the journey.
I look back with nothing but gratitude and pride.
Pride in having spent 36 years choosing leather pieces that reflected care, quality, and timeless style. Pride in knowing these bags found homes across Australia with people who appreciated genuine craftsmanship. And most of all, pride in staying true to what Lexi’s Leather has always stood for.
